HEAR, SEE AND CHAT

Internet today has become the basic necessity of everyone’s life. People belonging to all age groups use internet for various purposes. Children use it for gaming and playing; youngsters use if for making projects, playing and social networking; and adults use it for their work, researches and social networking. Internet has made world a small neighbourhood by connecting people across the world. Earlier, Relatives who seemed far away have now become accessible. Internet has made everything convenient.

Research, knowledge, shopping, study, chatting, etc everything is possible through internet. Internet chatting is becoming very popular. People across the world chat using internet. The various sources like, Skype, facebook, twitter, G-talk, Yahoo messenger, etc are used for chatting. The users simply have to sign into these sites which are free of coast and chatting starts from there.

There are two ways of chatting on the net: audio and audio-visual. Audio chatting enables the chatters to hear each other’s voice and talk as if talking on an ordinary phone. On the other hand, audio – visual forms of internet chatting enables the users to visually see each other on the computer screens and talk to each other. It is like a face to face chat. It is very good way of talking to relatives and friends whom we haven’t met in years and also in professional life, audio-visual chatting is used for international conferences and meetings.

Internet chatting has many advantages like connecting with long lost friends, building new contacts, knowing others better, etc. But, as we know there are two sides of everything, chatting on internet also has many disadvantages. The people might not be trustworthy, sometimes the chatters do not disclose their true information, they can misuse the identity of the innocent users, etc. Internet chatting has also been used in many crimes such as murders, rapes, thefts etc.
